The Role of Brand in the Nonprofit Sector research team, led by Dr. Nathalie Kylander, is currently working on a book to be published in early-2013. The book is based on the Brand IDEA framework, describing cutting-edge brand management practices in nonprofit organizations.
The objective of the book is to help nonprofits strategically manage their brand to further their mission using the Brand IDEA framework (Integrity, Democracy, Ethics, and Affinity). We will define the framework, provide numerous examples and case studies, and offer guidelines and best practices related to brand management for nonprofits. The audience is primarily nonprofit managers, board members, and consultants.
We are talking to a wide variety of organizations during our book research, in terms of size, scope, and area of focus. If you are interested in contributing to the research by participating in a one-hour interview to discuss your organization’s experiences in managing your nonprofit brand please contact roleofbrand@hausercenter.org
Interviews will be confidential – we will share with you any written sections we include about your organization prior to the publication of the book and will not attribute your quotes without your specific permission.
We look forward to learning from you and your organizations.
I am very interested in your research. We have scaled our organization from 1 to 35 cities in 5 years and during the recession by licensing the use of our small business development programs to partners across the country. We use a co-branded approach, where our local partner creates a locally-owned, locally-branded program into which they insert our StreetWise ‘MBA’. Think PC manufacturers and Intel. In having their own-branded program that integrates our program, we find that they work harder to be successful. They are, in the end, building their brand – not ours. And we give them the metrics they need to brag about their success. Our partners love the arrangement — and for it, they pay us a fee to deliver our mission.
I hope we get a chance to speak.
Will love to be part of this project.
