Fit for the Future? A Closer Look at Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)
Pablo Marco | Board Member, MSF Spain | Member, MSF International General Assembly

Monday, October 15
4.30 pm – 5.30 pm

Belfer L-4, ground floor
Harvard Kennedy School

International NGOs (INGOs) of all stripes are facing the challenge of being effective and accountable in a fast-changing context, marked by rapid technological change, geopolitical power shifts, politicization of humanitarian efforts, and deeper questioning of INGO legitimacy.  How is Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) confronting these challenges?  How is the organization positioned for the future?

Pablo Marco has served as MSF’s Head of Mission in Haiti, Yemen and the Central African Republic, and now serves on the board of MSF Spain and is a member of MSF’s International General Assembly.  Hear his thoughts on the big challenges MSF confronts and how the organization is poised to address them.

Join us for the first of a series of study group sessions that will consider how major INGOs are positioned for future challenges. At the end of this study group (at 5.30 pm), students interested in INGOs are invited to stay on, meet one another, and discuss how they might organize themselves for joint activities.
